Writing can happen in any subject area, but for the sciences it is especially compelling. Here is a science specific site to get you started. This lesson plan gives a science teacher more support in teaching the basics of haiku. Remember that a haiku is a 3 line poem: 5-7-5 syllables.

Jerome Burg (not a Google employee!) was the innovative teacher that started it all and his website Google Lit Trips is the paramount place to get started. Even though the word LIT is in the title, it is basically a mash up of places and things and students could find poetry from across the world and post it.
