Ruth F. Harrison, retired professor of medieval literature, lives near Waldport on the central Oregon coast. She has judged in contests sponsored by OSPA, NFSPS, Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg, Chapparal Poets, and the Ina Coolbrith Circle, among many others. Her publications include two textbooks, two poetry collections (Bone Flute, 1996; and Namesong, 2004), and three chapbooks. Her recent work appears in Harp Strings, Poets' Forum Magazine, Kestrel, Denver Quarterly, Manzanita Quarterly, West Wind Review, Plainsong, Edgz, Tiger's Eye, The Lyric, and other journals, and the Oregon bridges anthology; and online the packratnest and Lewis Turco's blog. Several poems are included in Turco's fourth edition of The Book of Forms. Her poems have won numerous awards in recent Formalist, NFSPS, and OSPA contests. Several poems have received a Pushcart Prize nomination.
