C. Steven Blue won his first poetry award at age 12, but he started writing poetry seriously when he was 18. Throughout his life he has dabbled in music and song-writing as well. In his early 20s Steven did sound engineering for local Southern California bands and co-produced a movie music soundtrack. After various jobs in his youth, Steven began a career in stage production that would last 27 years. All of these experiences have helped to shape Steven's poetry.

Steven and his wife Paulette are retired and live in Eugene, Oregon, where he writes and publishes poetry and music. He is involved in the local poetry and music scene, performing at open mics and poetry readings weekly. His poetry is also published in a local literary quarterly.
